Whoa. I was looking for motivation. And I've bombarded myself with motivation that it won't motivate me anymore. This video is something I wanted to see. It's true.. motivation can come and go. But we still have to practice guitar anyways. It's a learning curve (or I should call it a bend 😅) we need to follow. And why? Because, I want it. Nothing can take me away from my will. Why? Because music is so personal thing to me. I wanna play what I like to listen. Whether it's on music player or its in my own head playing own tune. Why? Because it's meditation for me. It reminds me of me.. the younger version of myself who once was so enthusiastic. Why? Because look at the world.. what kind of music is being made. Terrible. I wanna partake into those 2-3% of people who make real music with real instruments which can be played live without auto tune and lip sync or just acting on stage on pre recorded audio. I wanna put a life into it. Why? Because I wanna be proud of myself in my older age telling my grandchildren that your grandpa has made own songs which are real headbangers. (I really wanna make at least 7-8 songs i.e. an album of my own before I die. Idc if people love it or not. If its hit or not.) And final why? Because we gonna die someday. I don't want this guilt of not learning guitar the way I want when I'm dying. Bitter truth.. we can die any moment. So it's better to re-start the practice sessions right now!!! PS. I'm waiting for my new string sets to be delivered at my home. I can't really start practice like right now. Pardon. But I'll surely start soon.

Habbit: not holding the note for the full duration. Whole notes are obvious, but quarter notes and half notes I tend to not notice. Especially if i need to "prepare" my finger for the next note. Know what I mean? :).

I totally agree . . . it’s a wonderful technique . . . I’ve tried and tried but I just can’t seem to get right . . . especially the kick simultaneously while playing a bass note. I love the sound and would sure save me a lot of time, effort and expense spent on looping pedals to try and compensate. Appreciate you sharing your technique and talent. I play local gigs usually in a one man band or duo format and always looking for ways to fill out the sound.

When I saw the Lion King Live in London the orchestra sneakily played a section of Smetana's Moldau when timon was being flushed down a river (the whole song is about a river) it was an amazing Easter egg and I swear I was the only one who realized. I had a little nerd freak out and looked around and people probably thought I was crazy.

I love guitar pro for this. Start at 25% speed. Learned from watching Tosin Abasi lessons. He said start slow and when you can play it 7-8 times without making mistakes you can speed up by 5-10% at a time. Repeat repeat repeat. Until you reach 100%

Again I'm sorry to mention this but you use it so often.. things are not built OFF notes. We build on things. the thing you build on is a foundation that's why we use the preposition ON. A chord is built on a note just like your house is built ON foundations or the statue outside in your garden stands ON a plinth. They are not built off and *_specially_* they are not built off of.

For me the biggest issue with rolling chords is that it results in cutting corners. It gives your left hand fingers extra time between chords. When you play all notes at once, all your fingers need to be in position, meaning you need to be faster.

"Alhambra" has a silent "h." I wince when I hear the "h." I practice the tremolo on Malaguena, my own version, though it is probably the right one. Sometimes I do well, whatever that means. I also have added it to a Santana song: Samba Pa Ti. I am not very good, but I am not all that bad. I used to do it with the fingers straight, but i think that is very wrong, so now I curve them. I am going to download Recuerdos De La Alhambra and practice that. I have heard it before and think it it is the best thing to do right now.
